Lychee Smoothie

Go down to recipe

We’re excited to share a recipe that’s become a staple in our kitchen - our Lychee Smoothie. It’s a simple yet delightful treat that brings a little bit of tropical flavor to the day. This smoothie is a great option for a sunny afternoon relaxing drink, a quick on-the-go breakfast or a healthy snack!

Fragrant and Rejuvenating

In this smoothie, we use fresh lychees, which are the heart of this recipe. Originating from China, these sweet and fragrant fruits are delicious and full of Vitamin C and antioxidants, supporting the immune system and promoting healthy skin - talk about a super food!

For this recipe, we love the combination of coconut milk and Greek yogurt. The coconut milk adds a touch of tropical creaminess, while the Greek yogurt makes the smoothie smooth and adds some protein. A bit of honey gives the right amount of sweetness, naturally.

The perfect finish: garnishes and toppings

Although our basic recipe is delicious, we love experimenting. We love to top off our smoothie with a few fresh mint leaves for a refreshing kick, but we have a number of ideas to make this smoothie perfect for you;

  • Toasted coconut flakes: Offers a delightful crunch and a hint of tropical flavor.
  • Chopped nuts: Such as almonds or pistachios, for a nutty texture.
  • Fresh fruit slices: Like strawberries, kiwi, or dragon fruit for color and extra fruitiness.
  • Whipped cream: For a decadent, creamy topping.
  • Honey drizzle: Adds a touch of natural sweetness.
  • Chia seeds: For a nutritious, crunchy addition.

  • Lime zest: Adds a tangy, citrusy flavor.
  • Lychee pieces: Either fresh or canned, to emphasize the lychee flavor.
  • Granola: For a satisfying, crunchy texture.
  • Shredded basil: For an unexpected, herby twist.
  • Matcha powder: Sprinkled on top for a unique, earthy flavor.

Add a twist

For this recipe, we’ve given the base recipe for a lychee smoothie, but there are so many variations you could try to spice up and vary your lychee smoothie, and we love them;

  • Tropical lychee mango smoothie: Add mango chunks and a splash of pineapple juice to your smoothie for a complete tropical flavor profile.

  • Lychees with mixed berries: Add some strawberries, raspberries or blueberries and Greek yogurt for a berry-lychee treat.

  • Lychee green tea: Mix your lychees with brewed and chilled green tea, a squeeze of lime, and a hint of mint for a refreshing and calming smoothie.

  • Lychee and peach: Combine lychees with fresh or canned peaches, and a scoop of vanilla protein powder for a peachy, protein-packed drink.

  • Lychee ginger zinger: Blend lychees with a small knob of fresh ginger and a bit of orange juice for a zesty and health-boosting smoothie.

  • Lychee and citrus: Combine lychees with freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice, and a scoop of Greek yogurt for a citrusy, tangy twist.

  • Lychee Rose: Mix lychees with rose water and Greek yogurt for a floral, fragrant, and romantic smoothie.

  • Lychee and Chia Seed: Mix lychees, chia seeds, banana, and a scoop of peanut butter for an energy-boosting smoothie.

Our Lychee Smoothie is a testament to simple ingredients coming together to create something both refreshing and healthy, and it’s perfect for those who appreciate the natural sweetness and unique flavors of tropical fruits - we certainly love it.
